Knightshayes Court
Designed by William Burges and begun in 1869, Knightshayes is a rare survival of his work. The rich interiors combine medieval romanticism with lavish Victorian decoration, and the smoking and billiard rooms, elegant boudoir and drawing room all give an atmospheric insight into grand country house life. The celebrated garden features a water lily pool and topiary, fine specimen trees, rare shrubs and delightful seasonal colours. Attractive woodland walks lead through the grounds

Tiverton Canal Company
Experience the enchantment of travel aboard a horse-drawn barge, where the stillness of progress is only interrupted by ripples from the bow. The mellow clip-clop of the barge horse mingles with the harvest's aroma so awakening memories of those lazy days of summer from a bygone era.

As the barge silently journeys onward, rippling water filters amongst the waterlilies where Mallards, Coots and Moorhens jostle for supremacy beneath hovering dragonflies.
Open March - September. Signposted from Tiverton town centre. Tel 01884 253345
